3 Christmas table decoration ideas for your events (video tutorial)

Corporate dinners, winter weddings, client evenings, end-of-year receptions: for event professionals, December is the busiest month of the year. Time is short, yet every table has to be flawless.

In this video, we show you 3 ideas to dress your event tables with preserved plants: a napkin decoration, a centrepiece and mini trees to place on the table. They are easy to reproduce in series, can be prepared several weeks in advance and stay perfect from set-up to the end of the event.

Why preserved plants are made for events

  • Prepared in advance: you assemble your decorations in the workshop, several weeks before the date, even for a 200-guest reception.
  • No constraints on the day: no water, no flowers wilting in the heat of the room, simpler transport and set-up.
  • Reusable: centrepieces and trees can be used again from one event to the next and from one season to the next. Ideal for a rental offer.
  • Easy to produce in series: identical arrangements for every table, without depending on fresh flower deliveries in peak season.

Idea 1: the napkin decoration

A detail that makes all the difference as guests take their seats, and lifts the whole table setting.

Materials

Steps

  1. Wrap the burlap ribbon around the napkin and secure it with a staple.
  2. Gather the Baby Blue eucalyptus and red gypsophila into a small bouquet, then slip it into the burlap.
  3. Hot-glue the cineraria leaf onto the burlap: its silvery grey instantly creates a frosty, wintry effect.
  4. Finish by hot-gluing the small red rose in the centre as the focal point.

Top tip: these arrangements can be assembled several weeks before the event. The same arrangement also looks great on gift boxes, if you are planning gifts for guests or clients.

Idea 2: the bark centrepiece

The centrepiece that sets the tone for the whole room, like a piece of forest placed on the table.

Materials

Steps

  1. Glue the LED fairy light battery box under the bark so that it is hidden.
  2. Glue the 2 snowy fir sprigs, one on each side, making sure they stick out slightly beyond the bark.
  3. Dress the bark with the reindeer moss, creating a path in small touches. No need to cover everything: leaving some bark visible makes the whole piece look more natural.
  4. Then glue on the red roses. The red stands out beautifully against the green moss and the white fir.
  5. Once everything is glued, arrange the LED fairy lights around the bark.

Tip: all the plants can be fixed with hot glue, which sets quickly.

The effect in the room: once the lights are dimmed, the centrepiece becomes warm, bright and elegant. And LED fairy lights are a great alternative to flame candles near plants.

Idea 3: the mini trees

A very flexible idea: one tree per guest, several grouped in the centre of round tables, or a continuous line along a long head table.

Materials

Steps

  1. Start with the reindeer moss, slipped in small touches into the openings of the tree. Green gives an enchanted forest feel; red creates a more festive, intense atmosphere.
  2. Add a few sprigs of Baby Blue eucalyptus for freshness and texture.
  3. Insert the golden flax, which adds a bright, precious touch, like little tree ornaments.
  4. Finish with the small red rose, like a star or a Christmas bauble.

Top tip: simply changing the moss colour completely changes the mood. Ideal for adapting to each client's style or a company's brand colours, without multiplying references. You can even alternate both colours at the same reception.

Our tips for your Christmas events

  • Produce in series in the workshop: assemble all the napkin decorations and trees in advance, then store them in compartment boxes for transport.
  • Coordinate the three decorations: napkins, centrepieces and trees use the same plants, for a table that looks consistent at first glance.
  • Offer rental: centrepieces and trees can be reused. A package delivered, installed and collected after the event is easy to sell to corporate clients.
  • Think about safety: plants, fresh or preserved, are flammable. Prefer LED fairy lights and candles near arrangements. In venues open to the public, check the venue's requirements: our selection of fire-resistant plants is designed for these situations.

Frequently asked questions

How far in advance can these decorations be prepared?

Several weeks if needed. Stored away from humidity, dust and sunlight, preserved arrangements keep their appearance until the day of the event.

Can the arrangements withstand the heat of a reception room?

Yes, the heat of a room does not make them wilt like fresh flowers. Simply avoid placing them near a direct heat source or a flame.

Can they be reused the following year?

Yes, as long as they are stored in a closed box, in a dry place and away from light after the season.
